The Houston Texans are proud to partner with GE and Houston Methodist to launch the Play Safe Football Clinics! These clinics will highlight the importance of concussion awareness, proper hydration, and nutrition.
Special guests will include experts in related fields, Houston Texans Ambassadors, and Texans Cheerleaders! Participants will hear from guest speakers and then take part in interactive football drills.

This free clinic will provide moms with the latest safety information in concussion awareness, proper hydration and nutrition to prepare them for the upcoming football season. These classroom-style instructions and interactive football drills will take place in the Houston Methodist Training Center.

You must be at least 18 years of age by April 7, 2013. There is no limit for maximum age. This past season our ages ranged from 18 to 30.
• Wear dance friendly shoes. Tennis shoes recommended

No, but you should be in good physical condition.
Can my family come and watch auditions?
No. Auditions are closed to the public. But you can watch the tryouts live online only on HoustonTexans.com.
What will the judges be looking for?
Appearance, Dance Ability, Showmanship, Poise, Personality, Attitude, Work Ethic, Education and Future Goals.
What is the time commitment? Is this a full-time job?
No, being a Houston Texans Cheerleader is not a full-time job. Most of our team members are full-time students, full-time mothers, or have full-time jobs. The time commitment is usually nine hours a week of rehearsal time and during the season, up to 16 hours a week including games.
Do current team members have to re-audition?
Yes, all members must go through the audition process each season and are not guaranteed their place on the team.
What can I do to prepare for auditions?
Dance! Call your local dance studio and ask about technique and choreography classes. Work on stretching, kicks, turns, and choreography. You can even join a funk aerobics class. You need to be able to pick up choreography fairly quickly and feel comfortable performing for the judges. Work out!!
