Player Appearances

General Player Appearance Guidelines
At each Texans player appearance, we want the experience to have an impact and be beneficial to all parties involved. As a result, we ask that you send requests only for events that abide by the following guidelines:

• All requests must be submitted 4-6 weeks prior to event
• Appearances will be limited to Houston and surrounding areas
• Direct interaction with children, elderly or other community members
• Clearly defined role/activities for the player (i.e. reading a book, speaking, etc.)
• NO activities that may cause bodily harm or physical injuries to players
• Wide-reaching impact (ensuring that the maximum number of people reached is possible)
• Purpose separate from player's attendance (We recommend that your event NOT center on a player's appearance, but that the appearance serves as a compliment to the event).
• When submitting a request, you must select a specific date for your appearance. Requests with "open date availability" will not be considered.
• All requests must be accompanied by an Appearance Request Form. (Submit an Appearance Request Form by clicking here)
• All Appearance Request Forms must be completed in their entirety via e-mail. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

Community/Non-Profit Appearances
The Houston Texans would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of the fans who support us both on and off the field. In conjunction with the Houston Texans community outreach efforts, players will make non-gratuitous appearances for non-profit organizations, schools and civic functions based on their availability.

Agencies/non-profit groups will need to submit a copy of their 501(c) 3 status with each request. Note: Please keep in mind that player appearances are extremely limited and are not guaranteed.

Player Availability
Please consider the following when requesting a player:

• During the regular season, players are able to make appearances on Tuesdays, their only scheduled day off during the week.
• Players are NOT available during the team's bye (off) week or during playoffs.
• Players are NOT available 72 hours prior to a game or on game day.
• Please keep in mind that appearances cannot be scheduled during mini-camps (June) or training camp (late July-Aug.). However, there are certain training camp practices that are open to the public.
• Players have limited availability during the offseason (Feb.-June), depending on place of residence. The NFL requests that players be allowed to travel on vacation, spend time with their families and participate in their own foundations and community outreach programs.

Submitting a Request
All Appearance Request Forms must be completed in their entirety via e-mail. Incomplete forms will not be considered.

Texans Coach/Scout Appearances
Houston Texans Coaches and Staff members participate in a variety of charitable organizations as guest speakers, board members or financial supporters.

Coach/Scout Availability
Texans personalities are available for a limited number of appearances depending on the date of your request. Schedules vary greatly, but are very similar to those of players - when players are busy, so too are many others in the organization who play support roles on and off the field. In general, during the season coach's availability is extremely limited. *Note that there is often more flexibility with staff member's availability - each request will be considered on an individual basis.

Follow-Up
Once your request has been received by the Houston Texans Community Relations Department, you will receive correspondence from us within ten (10) business days confirming that we have received your request. Please note that this initial correspondence DOES NOT guarantee we will be able to fulfill your request. We will establish further contact with you ONLY WHEN WE ANTICIPATE BEING ABLE TO FULFILL YOUR REQUEST. This correspondence will generally occur one to two weeks prior to the appearance date. If we do not establish further contact with you, then we were unable to fulfill your request and no additional communication is necessary.
