Heart of a Champion The Heart of a Champion program has been integrated into the Houston and Katy Independent School districts. The program provides character building programs by utilizing real life stories that encourage youth to integrate Commitment, Leadership, Perseverance, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Self-Control and Compassion into their lives. So far, we have reached over 7,000 middle school students. Our success in impacting the lives of so many youth is a result of our ongoing partnership with the Robert and Janice McNair Foundation and the Heart of a Champion Foundation. Pro Football Hall of Fame The Houston Texans and the Pro Football Hall of Fame have established a partnership to educate youth. The program is designed to build an effective bridge between education and student interest. The activity guide includes a wide range of interdisciplinary, cross-curricular classroom exercises each aligned with national standards of education in language arts, mathematics, science, family and consumer sciences, social studies, visual art, and physical education for all grade levels. NFL Grassroots Program The NFL Grassroots Program is a partnership of the National Football League (NFL) and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). The goal of the program is to provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. The program provides grants of up to $100,000 for capital improvement projects. The Grassroots program is intended not only to respond to the immediate shortage of playing fields, but to also build an infrastructure through partnerships and resident involvement that will sustain these open spaces for community use.
