¡Viva los Houston Texans!
The Houston Texans have established a solid Hispanic outreach platform by creating many events and partnerships to connect with the Hispanic community, including Hispanic Heritage Day presented by XFINITY, Hispanic Media Day, a Hispanic fan club, Toros Bravos presented by Verizon, and a partnership with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Hispanic Media partnerships
The Houston Texans have partnered with ESPN Deportes 1180 AM to be the Spanish radio home of the Houston Texans. Rumbo Newspaper has weekly Texans coverage throughout the year and Telemundo hosts a weekly Texans Spanish language TV show during the season.
NFL Hispanic Leadership Award
During halftime at the Hispanic Heritage Day, the Texans recognized Rick Noriega, President and CEO of AVANCE Inc., as the recipient of the NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award. In the week prior to the game, Houston Texans nose tackle Earl Mitchell and Cheerleaders visited AVANCE to read books to the young children while their parents listened to a nutrition presentation in Spanish from a Houston Texans representative.
