Annual Contribution
Houston Texans president Jamey Rootes presented a check for $733, 000 to the United Way of Greater Houston at the Houston Texans game against the Minnesota Vikings in December 2012.  The check represented the total amount raised thought the Texans’ 2012 United Way campaign.  The Texans are the top contributors to the United Way in the NFL and the #2 per-capita supporter of the United Way of Greater Houston. Every member of the Houston Texans organization contributes to the campaign including our owners, coaches, players and staff.

United Way/Texans Community Quarterback Award
The United Way and Houston Texans Community Quarterback program recognizes outstanding volunteers from United Way agencies in the Greater Houston area who exemplify leadership, dedication and commitment to their communities.  Five finalists are rewarded with a $1,500 contribution to their organization and one grand prize winner is awarded a $10,000 contribution to their organization.  Additionally, the winners are invited to attend a Houston Texans home game, where they are also recognized during the pre-game ceremony.
