A ganar por Kubiak

El partido de este domingo 10 de noviembre ante los Cardinals de Arizona tiene para los Houston Texans un significado diferente.

El partido de este domingo 10 de noviembre ante los Cardinals de Arizona tiene para los Houston Texans un significado diferente. Más allá de necesitar urgentemente la victoria para mantener viva la pequeña ilusión que les queda de calificar a los Playoffs, se necesita ganar para su entrenador en jefe Gary Kubiak, que por primera vez desde que tomó el cargo del equipo no estará dirigiendo desde las bandas.

Los Texans llegan a este partido con seis derrotas consecutivas y a pesar de que el equipo ha logrado mostrar algunas mejorías en los últimos dos partidos, después de que se hizo el cambio de quarterback titular, al final de cuentas no ha podido encontrar la fórmula para sacar los resultados necesarios. Y ante los Cardinals el examen no será nada fácil.

El reto también alcanzará un nuevo nivel para el ahora quarterback titular Case Keenum porque el factor sorpresa se ha agotado. En el partido contra los Colts de Indianapolis luego de un excelente comienzo, donde Keenum se conectó temprano en el partido con el receptor Andre Johnson para tres touchdowns, fue notorio que los Colts supieron ajustar su esquema defensivo en el tercer y cuarto periodo para complicarle la existencia al exquarterback de los Cougar de la Universidad de Houston.

Seguramente los Cardinals estarán preparados para Keenum y este debe estar listo para sobrellevar el reto si los Texans van a lograr este triunfo de visitantes.

Pero no solamente Keenum debe estar a la altura, el resto del equipo también debe sacudirse del mal momento para lograr el triunfo que le pueda levantar la moral al equipo y a Kubiak.

El equipo estará bajo el mando de Wade Phillips, pero esto es lo de menos porque se seguirá trabajando con los mismos esquemas de Kubiak. Y si hay algo que debe motivar a los jugadores al no ver a su entrenador en jefe en las bandas es entregarse y ganar por él.

No se sabe cuándo regresará Kubiak con el equipo, pero mientras que esté fuera los jugadores deben comprender que no pueden dejar ir la temporada y que sin duda sería mucho más alentador para Kubiak regresar a tomar las riendas con el equipo ya recuperado de este mal momento que atraviesa.

Pero primero hay que ganar el domingo ante los Cardinals. Solamente así pueden mantenerse vivas las esperanzas de reaccionar.
