El regreso de Arian Foster entusiasma

Todo mundo en Houston respira con mucha más tranquilidad en el campamento de pretemporada de los Texans con la presencia del corredor Arian Foster en las canchas y trabajando al parejo de sus compañeros.

Todo mundo en Houston respira con mucha más tranquilidad en el campamento de pretemporada de los Texans con la presencia del corredor Arian Foster en las canchas y trabajando al parejo de sus compañeros.

Las especulaciones estuvieron surgiendo sobre la verdadera condición del numero 23 pero las preocupaciones han sido silenciadas y tomando en cuenta la postura del entrenador en jefe Gary Kubiak y la del mismo corredor es evidente que Foster sí va a llegar bien al partido apertura de la temporada regular de la NFL en contra de los Chargers de San Diego.

Este domingo 25  agosto ante los Saints de New Orleans la mayoría de los titulares verán mucha más actividad y será la oportunidad de ver cómo está funcionando el equipo a estas alturas del campamento.

El tercer partido de una pretemporada siempre es el más importante y aunque aún les queda a los Texans un partido amistoso en contra de los Cowboys de Dallas es en el choque contra New Orleans donde Kubiak tomará las decisiones más importantes.

Hay que seguir con los dedos cruzados para que el ‘mosquito’ de las lesiones se mantenga alejado del campamento de los Texans, como lo hecho hasta ahora, porque más allá de la contusión que sufrió el novato receptor DeAndre Hopkins no se han dado otras lesiones de consideración. Hopkins no jugará contra los Saints el domingo en el Reliant y no necesariamente porque no pueda sino porque el cuerpo técnico lo dejará descansar como precaución.

No todo ha sido de color de rosa: la apelación del defensivo Antonio Smith, que fue suspendido por la NFL por tres partidos luego de un altercado que sostuvo con un jugador de los Dolphins de Miami, fue rechazada por la liga y Smith entonces tendrá que cumplirla, lo que significa que se perderá el partido de apertura.

Smith se mostró molesto por la decisión de la NFL, especialmente porque queda evidente en el video de que fue provocado por el jugador Richie Incognito. Pero la regla de la liga es clara: un jugador no puede utilizar un casco para golpear o tirar sobre un oponente como lo hizo Smith durante el partido amistoso contra los Dolphins.

Para finalizar con buenas noticias el regreso de Ed Reed es inminente, según el entrenador Kubiak, quien confirmó que el exjugador de los Ravens de Baltimore estará viajando a Colorado para visitar a su cirujano y recibir una última evaluación de su lesión para poder ya comenzar a trabajar con el equipo de Houston.
