Los Texans llevan sangre hispana

Alrededor de la NFL se celebra el Mes de la Herencia Hispana y los Houston Texans año tras año lo hacen en grande.

A lo largo de la semana jugadores del equipo estuvieron participando en eventos dentro de la comunidad hispana con la intención de recalcar que los Texans están comprometidos a reforzar las relaciones que han establecido con sus aficionados latinos.

El martes 24 de septiembre el jugador Earl Mitchell sorprendió a decenas de niños y adultos en el centro comunitario AVANCE donde junto con algunas de las lindas porristas de los Toros compartieron tiempo leyendo algunos libros.

Mitchell visitó varios salones y como el evento coincidió con la fecha de su cumpleaños el jugador disfrutó de varias canciones de felicitación por parte de los niños.

“Es muy bonito poder compartir tiempo con la comunidad y lo que hacen en este centro comunitario merece un reconocimiento por la ayuda que le brindan a los hispanos”, dijo Mitchell.

Desde que los Texans comenzaron su participación en la NFL su compromiso con la comunidad hispana ha sido notable y esto ha servido para que la afición latina le responda de forma admirable al equipo, ya que un gran sector de la afición de los Texans está compuesto por hispanos.

El creciente club de aficionados hispanos de los Texans, ‘Toros Bravos’, cada vez más se involucra con el equipo y durante este Mes de la Herencia Hispana algunos de sus miembros fueron voluntarios en el Houston Food Bank demostrando que esta relación entre los Texans y sus aficionados hispanos puede marcar una diferencia en la comunidad.

Este domingo 29 de septiembre los Texans se miden a los complicados Seattle Seahawks y los hispanos como siempre estarán con los Toros pero a la vez será un día muy especial ya que están programadas varias actividades dedicadas a la celebración de la herencia hispana.

El Grupo La Mafia se encargará de acompañar con su música al equipo cuando salgan del túnel mientras que miembros del Club Toros estarán ayudando para desplegar una gigante bandera de Texas sobre el terreno de juego previo al partido.

En el medio tiempo habrá mariachi y ballet folklórico además de que se reconocerá a varios miembros de la comunidad hispana por sus contribuciones. El himno nacional será interpretado por Karina Iglesias, una de las finalista del popular programa de televisión ‘The Voice’.
