    The 2015 Houston Texans Draft Party presented by Coors Light isThursday, April 30 at NRG Stadium.  The Draft Party begins at 5 p.m. CDT and the 2015 NFL Draft begins at 7 p.m. CDT.

    NFL Network’s draft coverage will be shown on the HD televisions throughout the 100 Level Concourse and Texans Radio on SportsRadio 610 will broadcast live, with commentary and analysis from “The Voice of the Texans,” Marc Vandermeer, and a number of special guests. When the Texans make their first-round pick, fans at the Draft Party will hear from the player first as part of Texans Radio’s live broadcast.

    Texans Ambassadors will be on hand to sign autographs throughout the evening. Texans fans can also get their first glimpse of the 2015 Houston Texans Cheerleaders when the squad makes its debut performance at the event. 

    Young fans can play in the TORO’s Kids Club Zone presented by Kroger, which will feature interactive games, a balloon artist and appearances by TORO and Deep Steel Thunder. Fans can also take photos in Memory Alley located on the concourse.

No hay tiempo para lamentarse

Con siete partidos por jugar incluyendo el de este domingo en el Reliant Stadium (12 pm) ante los Raiders de Oakland, los Houston Texans buscarán dar un paso en la dirección correcta que los lleve de alguna manera a terminar con dignidad esta temporada de pesadilla.

Con siete partidos por jugar incluyendo el de este domingo en el Reliant Stadium (12 pm) ante los Raiders de Oakland, los Houston Texans buscarán dar un paso en la dirección correcta que los lleve de alguna manera a terminar con dignidad esta temporada de pesadilla.

El regreso del entrenador en jefe Gary Kubiak al equipo debe darle a los Toros una inyección pura de motivación, pero es evidente que el equipo necesitará mucho más que un factor moral para conseguir el triunfo que acabe con esta racha de siete partidos consecutivos.

Es evidente que de aquí en adelante todos los jugadores necesitan demostrar que quieren seguir en este equipo y la mejor manera de hacerlo es jugando a su nivel por cuatro periodos. Ya no es aceptable jugar bien un medio tiempo para luego desbaratarse en la segunda mitad, como ha sido la tendencia recientemente.

Entre semana Kubiak no quiso comprometerse a decir que el quarterback Case Keenum sería el titular por el resto de la temporada y dejó abierta la posibilidad de un posible regreso de Matt Schaub. Sus declaraciones causaron algo de polémica porque un gran sector de la afición cree que Keenum ya se ganó el puesto con sus últimas tres actuaciones.

Sin embargo, el entrenador en jefe tiene razón en llevar a Keenum paso a paso. No se le puede dar la responsabilidad teniendo como referencia solamente tres juegos. Keenum igual que varios jugadores en este plantel tendrán el resto de la temporada para comprobar su valor.

Después de esta racha comprometedora está claro que los planes a futuro de esta franquicia se han modificado notablemente y que con el correr de los partidos que le quedan a esta campaña se va a ir moldeando el esquema a seguir de cara al próximo año.

La actitud de los jugadores y cuerpo técnico en este cierre de campaña estará bajo un microscopio porque es evidente que ya no se pueden tolerar esfuerzos a medias y mucho menos se aceptarán excusas.

Es cierto que los dioses del futbol americano le han tirado a los Toros retos complicados, incluyendo algunas lesiones devastadoras, pero a estas alturas ya no vale la pena lamentarse y mucho menos en estos dos próximos partidos, donde los Texans se miden a rivales que andan por la calle de la amargura. Houston tiene con qué superar esos partidos y ese es el objetivo inmediato.
