Houston Texans National Anthem Contest: We have a winner!
More than 8,700 votes were cast online for the Houston Texans’ National Anthem Contest, and the winner is Hans Stockenberger, a 30-year-old Houston native who submitted a stirring rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.”
When the Texans faced the New England Patriots Jan. 3 in the regular season finale at Reliant Stadium, Stockenberger wowed fans by signing the National Anthem (see right). He also received two game tickets and one parking pass for the Fan Appreciation Day game presented by FOX Sports Houston.
Stockenberger received the most votes out of the 13 talented finalists. His winning margin was fewer than 30 votes. Read below to learn more about him. Also, scroll down to watch the auditions of all the finalists.
