TEXANS ANNOUNCE TV, RADIO AFFILIATE LINEUP FOR 2014
TV affiliates highlighted by top-rated stations in San Antonio, Austin; over 25 radio affiliates on board
HOUSTON – This season’s Houston Texans games will be broadcast throughout Texas on over 25 Houston Texans Radio Network affiliates, and a network of 15 television affiliates will televise the team’s preseason games throughout the Lone Star State and Southwestern Louisiana.
The Texans Radio Network boasts over 25 stations across Texas, spanning from the West Texas to the Piney Woods. New radio affiliate KIXZ in Amarillo headlines the stations joining the network this season, with additional stations expected to join prior to the Texans’ regular-season home opener on Sunday, Sept. 7 vs. the Washington Redskins. This year’s radio pregame show will be 30 minutes for affiliates; and the postgame show will last 20 minutes.
Once again this season, affiliates will air Texans programming during the week in addition to the game broadcast. Affiliates will air the Bill O’Brien Show, which will air Mondays at 5 p.m. in Houston, The Duane Brown Show, which will air Tuesdays at 6 p.m., and Texans Replay, an hour-long condensed replay of the previous week’s Texans game, will air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. All three shows, along with all Texans Radio programming, will be produced and broadcast live on SportsRadio 610, the team’s flagship station.
Texans TV affiliates will carry all four of the team’s preseason games this year, beginning with Saturday’s game at Arizona at 7:30 p.m. CDT, Saturday, Aug. 16 vs. Atlanta, Saturday, Aug. 23 at Denver, and Thursday, Aug. 28 vs. San Francisco. KTRK-ABC 13 in Houston produces and broadcasts the games across the Texans Television Network.
Again this season, most TV affiliates (italics below) will air the team’s weekly Inside the Game show, which airs every week of the season starting this Sunday, Aug. 10 at 11 p.m. in Houston. In addition, some affiliates will air the newly Texans produced TV Specials about the Houston Texans Cheerleaders, training camp, and previewing the 2014 season.
Highlighting the television affiliate lineup are KSAT (ABC) in San Antonio and KVUE (ABC) in Austin.
