The Texans have signed rookie defensive end Tim Jamison to their active roster from the practice squad. Jamison (6-3, 270) was as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan this year who flashed as a pass rusher during the preseason.

Jamison was a team captain at Michigan in 2008. He recorded at least five sacks in each of his final three college seasons.

"He's a good, hard worker," defensive line coach Bill Kollar said. "He shows a good burst and acceleration off the ball. He's stout against the run, too, and he's done a real good job these last four weeks in practice. We're pretty pleased to get him up."

Jamison took the roster spot of linebacker Khary Campbell, whom the Texans placed on injured reserve with a left knee injury. Campbell was signed by the Texans last week after linebacker Chaun Thompson went on the injured reserve list. He and Thompson both played in kick coverage on special teams.

The Texans also released Clark Harris from the practice squad. Harris was signed last week as insurance for long snapper Joel Dreessen, who had a sore hip after the Jaguars game but was able to play against the Raiders.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans will fill their two vacant practice squad positions by signing former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Henry, a 2007 second-round pick, and linebacker Thomas Williams, who was released from the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad last week. Per team policy, the Texans do not announce any transactions until they are official.
