Kenny Houston HOF Dinner
The Kenny Houston Hall of Fame Dinner will be held on April 12, 2007 at the Methodist Training Center.
Benefiting the Houston Texans Foundation and the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center, the Kenny Houston Hall of Fame Dinner will feature a group of former NFL Hall of Fame football players and celebrities from across the United States.
A few of the stellar athletes attending the dinner include; Lynn Swann, Leroy Kelly, Gale Sayers, Ted Hendricks, Paul Hornung and Mel Renfro. In addition to many famous faces from the world of football, several legends in the game of baseball and basketball, such as Rollie Fingers and Calvin Murphy, also will be there.
The evening will include a unique and interactive panel discussion moderated by sports commentator Sean Salisbury with guests Gary Kubiak
, Jackie Sherrill, and others that will talk about football past and present. A fantastic buffet dinner provided by Cordua and a world-class auction with many amazing items will round out this very relaxed and interesting event.
Two amazing non-profit groups, The Houston Texans Foundation and the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center, are assisting with the event. Heart disease is a leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States and former professional athletes can find themselves at an increased risk once they retire from a life of vigorous training. Research is vital to understanding, preventing and treating this disease. That's why the Houston Texans Foundation and the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center are proud to join forces with us and help raise awareness.
Proceeds from this event will benefit cardiac research at the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center, one of the most experienced and comprehensive cardiac centers in the United States. Together, we are offering the millions of people who suffer from heart disease the hope that they will live longer and healthier lives. Several of the athletes attending the dinner will also benefit from a healthy heart screening at the heart center during their stay in Houston.
