has been nominated as one of the finalists for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award. The other finalists include Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia.Schaub completed 26-of-31 pass attempts for 267 yards and two touchdowns in the Texans' 28-21 win over the Detroit Lions. In the victory, Schaub helped the Texans' offense total a franchise-record 29 first downs. A week earlier in the team's win over Miami, Schaub threw for 379 yards and led the Texans' offense to a club-record 485 net yards of offense.
Fan votes determine the winner, and voting already has begun. The voting closes Friday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. CT.
