1. 5/19/2008 Andre Johnson has knee scoped
The knee injury that sidelined wide receiver Andre Johnson for the majority of the 2007 season has crept up again. The two-time Pro Bowler recently underwent arthroscopic surgery on the same knee.
2. 1/18/2008 Texans announce 2008 ticket prices
The Houston Texans announced their ticket prices for the 2008 season on Friday.
3. 8/2/2008 Johnson’s groin provides big scare
Wide receiver Andre Johnson gave the Texans and a crowd of 3,721 fans at the Methodist Training Center quite a scare Saturday when he pulled up lame after running a deep route near the end of practice.
4. 6/9/2008 Texans release Gray and Black
The Texans released quarterback Quinn Gray and tackle Jordan Black Monday in an effort to trim down their roster to 80 players before training camp.
5. 4/15/2008 Texans' 2008 schedule released
The Texans' 2008 preseason and regular-season schedules were released by the NFL today. Headlining the release is the team's first-ever Monday Night Football game, to be played at home against the rival Jaguars on Dec. 1. Houston also will travel to tough road contests at Pittsburgh and Green Bay.
6. 3/3/2008 Texans sign Bentley
The Texans have signed unrestricted free agent linebacker Kevin Bentley, the team announced Monday. Formerly of the Seattle Seahawks, Bentley will compete for a starting job in 2008.
7. 1/11/2008 Texans promote Shanahan; hire Gibbs
The Texans have named Alex Gibbs as their assistant head coach/offense and promoted Kyle Shanahan to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, the team officially announced Friday.
8. 9/13/2008 NFL moves Texans-Ravens game to Nov. 9
Due to extensive damage at Reliant Stadium and the devastation in Houston and the surrounding areas caused by Hurricane Ike, the Houston Texans’ home game against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 at Reliant Stadium at noon Houston time (1:00 p.m. ET) on CBS.
9. 1/7/2008 Williams nominated for league award
Make sure to vote for defensive end Mario Williams, who was nominated Monday for 2007 GMC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Fan votes determine the winner among the five finalists.
10. 7/21/2008 Dates changed for training camp practices
All tickets for the Houston Texans Training Camp, presented by Wachovia, have been distributed to Texans fans, the team announced Monday. Also, the open practice schedule has been altered slightly due to heat-related concerns.
11. 8/22/2008 WR Williams suffers neck injury
Texans wide receiver Harry Williams injured his neck in the first quarter of Friday's preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium. He will have surgery in Dallas this weekend.
12. 2/29/2008 Texans extend tender offers
The Texans offered tenders Friday to restricted free agents C.C. Brown and Anthony Maddox. Houston also extended tender offers to exclusive rights players David Anderson, Earl Cochran, Joel Dreessen, Brandon Frye and Darius Walker.
13. 2/12/2008 Texans Cheerleader twins in SI Swimsuit Issue
The 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hit newsstands Tuesday, and for the first time it features the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. Larisa and Marisa, better known to Texans fans as "the twins," were chosen to join cheerleaders from 11 other NFL teams in the pictorial.
14. 10/5/2008 Texans to start Rosenfels
The Texans will start quarterback Sage Rosenfels instead of Matt Schaub Sunday versus the Indianapolis Colts at Reliant Stadium. Schaub became sick Saturday night, but is active for today's game.
15. 10/8/2008 Cheer calendar cover debuts
The Texans debuted the cover of the 2009 Houston Texans Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar on Wednesday with Eric revealing her cover shot.
16. 8/25/2008 Williams unlikely to play again
Texans wide receiver Harry Williams is recovering in a Dallas hospital after undergoing a lengthy surgery to fuse together his cervical spine. Initial reports indicate that Williams eventually will walk again, but doctors think it is unlikely that he ever will return to football.
17. 2/2/2008 Texans star in Super Bowl commercial
Two of the Texans' most likeable players introduced themselves on the world's biggest stage Feb. 3. Tackle Ephraim Salaam and guard Chester Pitts co-starred in the NFL's 60-second Super Bowl commercial, which aired at the start of the fourth quarter of the game.
18. 4/3/2008 Texans' 2008 preseason schedule released
The Texans' nationally televised game against Dallas in the final season of Texas Stadium highlights the team's preseason schedule released by the NFL today. The Texans also play at New Orleans and host the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Reliant Stadium.
19. 11/3/2008 Schaub out with MCL injury
Quarterback Matt Schaub suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee on Sunday and could be out for four games. He received the news on Monday after undergoing an MRI.
20. 8/18/2008 Texans sign RB Shipp
The Texans signed running back Marcel Shipp on Monday to add depth to a backfield that has been contending with injuries. Shipp, an eight-year veteran who was released by the Arizona Cardinals in early August, practiced with the team after inking the deal.
21. 8/29/2008 Texans release 21 players
The Texans released 21 players from their roster on Friday. The team has one more move to make before the 53-man roster limit deadline Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.
22. 4/14/2008 Texans Cheerleader finalists selected
This weekend, more than 400 talented and beautiful women flocked to the 2008 Houston Texans Cheerleader Tryouts at the Methodist Training Facility, each vying for one of the 35 spots on the upcoming year's squad. Forty-nine were selected for the finals to be held this Friday.
23. 6/12/2008 Texans announce training camp open dates
The Houston Texans Training Camp, presented by Wachovia, begins for fans on Saturday, July 26 at the Methodist Training Center. Free tickets are available to the public at Wachovia Financial Centers in the greater Houston area beginning Wednesday, July 9.
24. 1/8/2008 Texans address free agency
The Texans have 15 unrestricted free agents going into the offseason. General manager Rick Smith is starting to determine who can make the Texans a better team moving forward.
25. 6/16/2008 Texans sign Colvin
The Texans made it clear this offseason that they were looking for a player to improve their pass rush. On Monday, that search ended when the team signed former New England Patriots linebacker Rosevelt Colvin.
