Andre Johnson, Arian Foster limited in practice

Posted Aug 13, 2014

Andre Johnson and Arian Foster were dressed in full pads for the Texans first day of joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday.

The Texans could see a bolstered offense in preseason this week with the return of two major contributors.

Andre Johnson and Arian Foster were dressed in full pads for the Texans first day of joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday. Both Johnson and Foster were limited, not taking part in 11-on-11 drills against the Falcons.

“I was able to do things full speed,” Johnson said after practice. “I didn’t participate in the competition stuff with the other team because it was my first day back. It was just being careful about the way they worked me back in so other than that, I’ll be out here every day doing stuff.”

On Sunday, head coach Bill O’Brien said that both Foster and Johnson “a shot” of playing against Atlanta in the Texans preseason home opener on Saturday (7 p.m. on KTRK ABC-13, SportsRadio 610). That decision is yet to be made, according to O’Brien.

“We haven’t ruled on that one yet,” O’Brien said Wednesday. “We’re going to see how it goes this afternoon, tonight and then tomorrow morning we’ll see how it is. Maybe I’ll be able to tell you better tomorrow.”

The Texans and Falcons will hold their second and final joint practice on Thursday at the Houston Methodist Training Center.
