Johnson, who suffered a knee to the shin at Baltimore, has been limited in practice this week but showed significant improvement. Head coach Gary Kubiak, who considered Johnson a game-time decision as of Thursday, said Johnson now looked to be starting in Sunday's game.
“Looking at practice, yes,” Kubiak said on Friday. “He looks pretty good.”
Duane Brown did not practice on Friday, after participating just one day earlier. Before Thursday, Brown had been in a walking boot after spraining his toe in Week 2 against Tennessee.
Brown was without his walking boot on Thursday when returned, even taking some snaps with the team. On Friday Brown was not present for drillwork or team reps and he only worked with head athletic trainer Geoff Kaplan.
“Duane did not practice," Kubiak said. "He will be a game-time decision."
The All-Pro left tackle, who did not travel with the team to Baltimore, had not missed a game since the 2010 season.
