“I plan on playing and that’s the way I’m approaching it so we’ll see what happens,” Johnson said.
After suffering a hit to his shin at Baltimore, Johnson has been limited to individual drills in practice this week. He has not participated in any team drills but says he feels an improvement.
“Right now I feel like I’d play,” Johnson said. “It’s just a process. It’s still sore. I think running, going out today, running around, running routes and stuff helped me out. I guess when you have a bad bruise like that, sitting around. I think when you get up and move around a little bit. It kind of helps it out and loosen up. I felt a little better, I’ve been feeling better day-by-day.
“I was kneed. I caught the ball and I was going down,” Johnson said. “One of the guys that tried to tackle me, kneed me. Nothing intentional. Those are the things that make you frustrated. It doesn’t look like anything but on the next play I was limping and it didn’t get any better. Like I said, I’m doing everything I can to make sure I’m out on the field Sunday. I look forward to playing.”
Johnson, in his eleventh year with the Texans, leads the team in receiving with 25 catches for 258 yards this season.
