Arian Foster: "Wonderful", excited for Wk 1

Arian Foster is ready for Week 1 and the home contest against Washington.

Arian Foster is ready.

“I’m wonderful, physically,” the running back said on Tuesday. “I’m excited about that. I can’t wait to play football.”

Foster and the Texans host Washington at NRG Stadium in Week 1, and he said it's "not an issue" that he didn't suit up for any of the four preseason games. Foster last played in a game on November 3rd against Indianapolis.

Foster's role in the new offense will be fascinating to watch. A standout on the ground with three straight seasons of 1,200 yards rushing or more from 2010-12, Foster's also been effective catching passes. During that same span, he averaged 50 receptions for 479 yards. The Texans won't likely be shy about throwing him the ball this season, either.

“In the NFL they have a saying that kind of goes around the league that says, ‘The more you can do,’" Foster said. "I do. I take a lot of pride in being able to be a three-down back, blocking, running, catching. I feel like I’ve done it at a high level for years and I’m going to continue to do that for as long as I’m in the game.”

The Texans will practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Houston Methodist Training Center.
