Running back Arian Foster left the Texans’ loss to Minnesota on Sunday in the third quarter with an irregular heartbeat.


Running back Arian Foster left the Texans’ loss to Minnesota on Sunday in the third quarter with an irregular heartbeat. He was on the sideline for the rest of the game but did not return.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said there was a point in the second half when doctors told him Foster could go back in, but he kept Foster out as a precaution.

“Arian had an irregular heartbeat,” Kubiak said. “He’s doing fine. That’s why we took him out of the game, but he’s doing fine. That’s something that happened once before in practice. I’m not sure when it happened... I just know it’s happened to him before at practice, he calms down, he’s fine... I don’t see any issues here. I know they’re on top of it. I know he’s feeling fine.”
Foster had 10 carries for 15 yards (1.5 average), a career-low in a game he started, before leaving the game. He lost a fumble in Vikings territory in the second quarter.

“I’ll be fine,” Foster said. “I’ll be OK. It’s a very minor situation, so I’ll be OK.”

Foster has 335 carries for 1,328 yards (4.0 average) and a league-leading 14 rushing touchdowns this season.
