O’Brien was asked about Draft plans, and more specifically, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel. The Texas A&M Aggie announced yesterday that he’s now preparing for a career in the NFL, and O’Brien shared his thoughts on the player some would like the Texans to take.
“Johnny Manziel’s a very exciting player,” O’Brien said. “We’re a long way from deciding who we’re going to draft, or if we even draft at that position. That’ll be an organizational decision to be made by
The 2014 NFL Draft is May 8-10, and the Texans have the first overall pick.
O’Brien, a Massachusetts native and admitted Boston Celtics fan, said it was his first time to ever sit courtside at an NBA game. He also said Rockets head coach and former Celtic Kevin McHale was one of his boyhood idols.
After the Rockets beat Los Angeles, 113-99, McHale was asked about being one of O’Brien’s favorite players, and ended his press conference with a doozy.
“He must be old,” McHale said. “That’s all I can say.”
