The Houston Texans 2014 training camp kicks off this week and players are ready to get the 2014 season underway.
Quarterback Case Keenum
, now heading into his third NFL training camp, no longer considers himself a rookie after spending one season on the practice squad and then making the active roster after camp in 2013.
“I guess I'm officially a veteran," Keenum said on "Texans Huddle," airing on Fox Sports Southwest
Thursdays at 6 pm. "I have a year under my belt, and another year as far as training camp goes. I’m excited about this year. I’m excited to get going, continue to improve and get ready for the 2014 Texans season.”
With most of the playbook installed, Keenum says the new offense is one he enjoys. Keenum has spent the past few weeks throwing with his teammates at his alma mater, the University of Houston.
"We've had a bunch of guys rolling in and out, the team guys, all over the city just depending on when they were traveling," Keenum said. "We've had a good group of guys come and throw and I think we got better. I think everybody's in the best shape of their life and ready to go for camp."
Rookies report to training camp on Monday and veterans are expected to do so on Friday. The entire team begins two-a-day practices beginning Saturday, July 26 at the Houston Methodist Training Center.
