Good morning and Merry Christmas. Hope the day is a happy one for you.
With pleasantries out of the way, let's address the elephant in the room/article: the Titans were once the Oilers.
For the better part of four decades, the City of Houston cheered and groaned with the ups and downs of a franchise that won AFL titles, but could never get past the conference championship game once the AFL and NFL merged. Owner Bud Adams, who died this October, moved the Oilers to Nashville in 1997. The franchise changed names to the Titans in 1999, and has been to the playoffs six times since.
Titans' safety Bernard Pollard was a Texan in 2009 and 2010, and helped the former team to the club's first-ever winning season.
Tennessee's offensive line coach is Bruce Matthews. He was an assistant offensive line coach in Houston in 2009 and 2010, but is more famous for his exploits as an Oilers offensive lineman. He made a Pro Bowl at all five positions on the line, and is in the Hall of Fame.
His son Kevin played at Texas A&M and is now a Titans offensive lineman as well.
