BWTB: Watt's 1,000 Pound Workout

Texans defensive end J.J. Watt lifts a 1,000 pound tire during a recent offseason workout.


J.J. Watt is getting ready.

The Houston Texans defensive end, coming off another Pro Bowl season, is back at work in preparation for the 2014 season. Known for his incredible athletic feats, Watt added to his legend recently, lifting a 1,000 pound tire as part of a recent workout, which you can watch above. Last offseason, Watt garnered national attention by pulling off a 59.5 inch box jump. Watch that jump HERE.

The three-year man out of Wisconsin had 10.5 sacks last season, leading the Texans for the second straight campaign.

He followed up his Associated Press 2012 Defensive Player of the Year campaign by totaling a career-high 108 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and a league-high 44 quarterback hits in 2013. Watt also forced three fumbles, had two fumble recoveries, six passes defensed and two blocked field goals as well.

Since entering the NFL in 2011, his 174 solo tackles lead the NFL among defensive linemen, his 35.5 sacks are fourth in the NFL, his 106 quarterback hits lead the NFL, his 26 passes defense are tops among defensive linemen and his 69 tackles for loss are the most in the NFL.
