While Tate wasn’t too worried about the long-term effects, he didn’t know if he would be back on the field in two days.
“I’m not sure yet,” Tate said.
Kubiak elaborated on the running back position, and said Tate coming out of practice was a “precautionary” measure.
“His groin was sore,” Kubiak said. “We really worked a lot of young players this morning. Our focus was on the young guys and when his groin got sore we took him out.”
In 11 games last season, Tate rushed 65 times for 279 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He took the long view of things when asked about his level of frustration this morning.
“The season doesn’t start tomorrow so why would I be frustrated? If there’s a time get nicked, I’d rather it be now than in the season.”
