Clowney, Mack, Robinson talk Texans in NYC

Posted May 7, 2014

The day before the 2014 NFL Draft, Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack and Greg Robinson shared their thoughts about the Texans.

With the Texans picking first tomorrow night in the NFL Draft, going number one was a natural topic of conversation Wednesday. The top college prospects took part in an NFL Play 60 community event at Chelsea Waterside Park in New York, and each spoke about their experiences with Houston.

For South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, the chance to play with Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is invigorating.

"I always watched him play when I was in college," Clowney said. "Just being right beside him would be even better."

Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack also had plenty to say about Watt, and started with the 2012 NFL Defensive Player of the Year's hands.

"I got a chance to shake J.J. Watt's hands, and his hand wrapped around mine twice," Mack said.

The MAC standout also said he'd "love" to learn from defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, and that a defense with he, Watt and inside linebacker Brian Cushing would be formidable.

Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson, who said he visited the Texans at Reliant Stadium a few weeks ago, could envision himself being picked first on Thursday evening.

"I think my possibility is real strong," Robinson said. "I visited Houston and it was a good trip. Nothing negative about it."

In particular, Robinson "really liked the weight room" and said the team would "move me around" to a guard position or right tackle, since Pro Bowler Duane Brown is holding down the left tackle spot.
