Duane Brown out of walking boot, eases back into practice

Duane Brown made progress on Wednesday, noticeably without a walking boot.

Duane Brown made progress on Wednesday, noticeably without a walking boot. The All-Pro left tackle also did individual work during practice.

“He worked with the trainers today so that was a good thing,” head coach Gary Kubiak said. “Moving around, did a little individual. He did not do any team stuff. I don’t know where we’ll be tomorrow. I think it’s going to be a game-time decision. It’s very sore, but he’s doing a lot better than he was last week at this time. We’ll just sit here and hope for the best and continue to prepare (T) Ryan (Harris) to play.”

Brown, a starter in all 16 games in four of his past five seasons, will ease back into practice, slowly increasing what he can do each day until he is 100-percent.

“I’m a lot better than last week,” Brown said. “This time last week I could barely put pressure on it. I’m out of the boot now, went out there and did some field work, some individual work. It feels pretty good but it’s still hard to tell right now because moving around isn’t the same as trying to block 300-pound guys. I’m taking it one day at a time. Tomorrow I’ll probably do a little bit more.”
