Duane Brown returns in Week 8

Posted Oct 23, 2017

Duane Brown returned to NRG Stadium on Monday after missing the first six games of the 2017 season.

Duane Brown returned to NRG Stadium on Monday following the Texans Week 7 bye and was ready to work.

"Glad to have him back," head coach Bill O'Brien said. "He’s in good shape and we’ll just keep working with him and see where it goes from here.”

Houston’s starting left tackle had missed offseason workouts, training camp and the first six games of the 2017 season. Brown did not comment on his time missed.

"I'm just here working," Brown said. "I'm leaving everything else up to the front office and my agent. I'm just here to work."

Brown kept in shape and could be ready to play as early as Sunday's game in Seattle. If so, the ten-year veteran would get his first start with rookie Deshaun Watson when the Texans play the Seahawks.

“He’s a special talent,” Brown said. “I think Coach O’Brien has done a great job of catering to his skillset and he’s been able to do a lot and it’s been great to watch. I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Eight-year veteran Chris Clark started at left tackle in Brown’s absence, but suffered a calf injury in the Texans 33-17 win over Cleveland on Oct. 15.

The (3-3) Texans will travel to Seattle to face the (4-2) Seahawks on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3:05 p.m. CT on CBS and SportsRadio 610.
