Gary Kubiak returns to practice field

Posted Nov 13, 2013

Head coach Gary Kubiak was back on the practice field with the Texans on Wednesday.

Gary Kubiak returned to the practice field Wednesday, and was happy to be back. The Texans head coach began his press conference with a quick question.

"Yall miss me?," Kubiak said.

Just before the half against Indianapolis, Kubiak said he started feeling bad. He collapsed on the way to the locker room, and was then wheeled off the field on a stretcher. He was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital and released a few days later. He suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA) and came back to work on a limited basis this week.

"It's just great to be back," Kubiak said. "Great to be back on the field. It's just good to be back to work."

Kubiak said he had a good appointment with doctors yesterday, and that in all likelihood he'll be on the sidelines Sunday at Reliant Stadium for the game versus Oakland.

"If everything goes well this week, yes I will," Kubiak said on whether or not he'll return. "I feel great today. I don't foresee any reason why I won't be doing it."

Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison called the plays Sunday afternoon in the booth, but said he'll confer with Kubiak about how it went.

"I asked him to give me a little critique," Dennison said. "And he will. We talked about a couple things. Just certain situations in the game that probably could have been handled differently."

Kubiak and the Texans will practice again on Thursday and Friday. They kick off at noon against the Raiders at Reliant Stadium.
