“I’m better than ever, I feel great.” Watt said during the game broadcast when asked if his absence was health-related. The All-Pro defensive end was held out as a precaution and will likely not see any more playing time until the season-opener on September 9. When Watt does finally get to start, he does not plan to hold back any longer.
Watt, who played just two snaps in his only preseason appearance in Week 2 against Miami, says the waiting is only fueling his intensity.
“It just builds up hunger,” Watt said. “It just builds up anger.”
Watt’s wait will be the longest as the Texans' regular season debut will be the last game of opening weekend. The Texans travel to San Diego for the second of a double-header broadcast on Monday Night Football on September 9.
