Jadeveon Clowney held out of practice

Posted Aug 21, 2014

Jadeveon Clowney did not participate in Thursday’s training camp practice with the Denver Broncos at Dove Valley.

Jadeveon Clowney was noticeable missing from the Texans third and final joint practice with the Denver Broncos at their Dove Valley training facility. Head coach Bill O’Brien did not discuss any specifics regarding Clowney’s medical status.

“Yeah he’s doing fine,” O’Brien said Thursday. “We just held him out today and he’ll be fine.”

After leaving Wednesday’s full-pad session early, Clowney was seen being examined in the medical tent. As for his status for Saturday’s preseason game against the Broncos, O’Brien remained equally tight-lipped.

“Not sure yet,” O’Brien said.

Clowney did take part in Tuesday's practice and most of Wednesday's before he left the field. Denver's Pro Bowl left tackle Ryan Clady was impressed with what he saw.

"It was some good work," Clady said Thursday. "He definitely is a good player. He's fast, and it shows in practice and on film."

The Texans wrapped up their three-day session of practices with the Broncos on Thursday. Houston will face Denver in its third preseason game on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. CT (KTRK ABC-13, SportsRadio 610).
