Jackson’s mother, a two-time breast cancer survivor, will be at Sunday’s Pink Ribbon Day game against the St. Louis Rams. The Texans cornerback will join his mom, Rossalyn Jackson, as the Homefield AdvantageTeam Captains at Reliant Stadium.
“It’s very near and dear to me with my mom being a two-time breast cancer survivor,” Jackson said. “It really affects my family and this time of the year. With the league supporting it and wearing the pink, I’m all in with that and definitely, I want to help do anything that I can on and off the field to be a part of it.”
Texans fans can also celebrate and remember loved ones who have battled breast cancer. “Stand Against Cancer” fan cards will be available at all entry gates during Sunday’s game. Simply fill out the name of a friend or family member affected by breast cancer. During the second quarter, fans can hold up their cards for the “Stand Against Cancer Fan-Cam Moment” presented by Kroger. Former Houston Texan Steve McKinney and his grandmother, a proud breast cancer survivor, will prompt the stadium to hold up their cards and show support for breast cancer awareness.
