Right tackle
Derek Newton
will be back in the starting lineup on Sunday when the Texans face the Indianapolis Colts at Reliant Stadium.
Newton has missed the last two games with a right knee injury. The second-year pro is listed as questionable on the final injury report, but coach Gary Kubiak said Friday that Newton is “ready to go” and will start the game.
Ryan Harris
started in Newton’s place in Weeks 13 and 14.
Cornerback
Alan Ball
and outside linebacker
Brooks Reed
were the only Texans players ruled out on Friday. Ball has missed the last two games with a foot injury and has not practiced for two weeks. Reed has missed the last two games with a groin injury but is expected to return at some point before the playoffs.
Inside linebacker
Darryl Sharpton
(toe) and safety
Glover Quin
(hip) are also listed as questionable for Sunday. Quin was a new addition to the injury report on Friday. He was limited in practice. Kubiak did not mention anything about him on Friday afternoon when discussing the team’s health concerns. He said Sharpton, who was limited Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, would play barring any setbacks.
