Los partidos se ganan en la cancha

Los Texans han mostrado una notable madurez esta temporada no solamente en el juego individual de cada jugador sino también en el cuerpo técnico.


No pretendo hacer de los Jaguars de Jacksonville un gran equipo porque obviamente no lo son. Han perdido 8 de 9 partidos disputados pero lo que no se puede negar es que siempre han sido un rival muy incómodo para los Houston Texans.

El mismo entrenador en jefe de los Texans, Gary Kubiak, lo mencionó entre semana.

“Siempre nos juegan físicamente y defienden bien el juego terrestre, si entramos pensando que es un equipo que vamos a arrollar sin problema podríamos tener un día muy largo”, dijo Kubiak.

Tiene toda la razón. Este tipo de rivales se tienen que manejar cautelosamente. Es cierto que en papel los Texans deberían pasar por encima de los Jaguars como ‘Toros’ en estampida, pero en la cancha es completamente diferente.

Lo primero que debe hacer Houston es soltar a Arian Foster y que este haga lo que mejor sabe hacer, establecer el juego terrestre, para que la defensa de Jacksonville descuide su secundaria y le abra oportunidades al quarterback Matt Schaub y a sus receptores.

Los Texans han mostrado una notable madurez esta temporada no solamente en el juego individual de cada jugador sino también en el cuerpo técnico,  que ha crecido mucho en ese aspecto y es por eso que es poco probable que se cometa el pecado de subestimar a este rival en turno.

“Esta liga nunca deja de mostrarte que si no llegas preparado y concentrado al cien por ciento puedes pagarlo muy caro”, agregó Kubiak.

Es cierto que es un cliché cuando se dice que los partidos se ganan en la cancha, pero a la vez es una gran verdad que los Texans no deben olvidar cuando salten al terreno de juego este domingo al medio día y enfrente tengan lo que aparentemente es un equipo débil.
