Offense struggles in loss at New Orleans.

Posted Aug 26, 2017

The offense was unable to put points on the board Saturday night at the Superdome.

In their third preseason contest, the Texans offense struggled.

Zero points on the board in the 13-0 loss at the Saints, and after, head coach Bill O'Brien explained what he saw.

"We just were a little bit uneven," O'Brien said. "We moved the ball a little bit, but not good enough. It's the preseason, we gotta learn from it, and we've got to move on here quickly. We've got to get back to practice and fix some of the things that happened here."

Tom Savage completed 10-of-16 passes for 79 yards. He pointed the finger at himself for the offensive woes.

"We didn't score," Savage said. "Obviously, that's on the quarterback."

Penalties were a problem on Saturday for Houston, as the Texans were flagged eight times for 66 yards.

"A lot of times we just shot oursleves in the foot there with the penalties," Savage said.

Tight end Ryan Griffin, who caught two passes for 22 yards, agreed with Savage.

"Too many penalties," Savage said. "It wasn't a good night for us."

Instead of flying home to Houston, the Texans will head to Dallas because of the inclement weather.
