Texans Replay taking off on Texans Radio

Posted Oct 5, 2012

Texans Replay features a condensed broadcast of the Texans’ previous game, involving play-by-play calls, commentary from coaches and players, and much more.

There’s no better way to relive a Texans game than by taking in the sounds of the contest on Texans Replay presented by Bud Light.

The innovative new Texans Radio show features a condensed broadcast of the Texans’ previous game, involving play-by-play calls, commentary from coaches and players, and much more. It airs Tuesdays during the regular season from 8-9 p.m. CT on SportsRadio 610.

The game broadcasts are spearheaded by Marc Vandermeer, who is in his 11th season as the “Voice of the Houston Texans,” along with Texans color analyst and Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware and sideline reporter Rich Lord.

“What makes Texans Replay unique is I don’t believe anybody else is doing this on radio,” Vandermeer said. “It gives you a glimpse into what the players and coaches were thinking at particular times in the game.”

Along with the best drives of the previous matchup, Texans Replay integrates sound-bites from postgame interviews with coach Gary Kubiak and Texans players at key moments throughout the game. The show’s narrator provides background on the season and reviews the game situation at certain points in the contest.

“Whether it’s a good moment or a negative moment in the game, we try to recapture the emotion in a condensed format of a one-hour long show,” Vandermeer said.

Texans Replay is engineered by SportsRadio 610 program director Gavin Spittle, reporter Paul Gallant and producer Tim Nesmith.

“We have a collaborative effort in putting this thing together, and it really works out well for us,” Vandermeer said.

SportsRadio 610, along with heritage country KILT-FM, is the flagship station and broadcast home for the Texans Radio network since 2002.
