Texans announce open training camp practices

Houston Texans Training Camp presented by XFINITY kicks off on Saturday, July 28, when the Texans take the field for the first time in preparation for the 2012 season.




HOUSTON – Houston Texans Training Camp presented by XFINITY kicks off on Saturday, July 28, when the Texans take the field for the first time in preparation for the 2012 season.

That practice session will be the first of six open to the public. All of the open practices will begin at 8:00 a.m. CDT and gates will open to fans at 7:00 a.m. The other open practices will be held on Sunday, July 29; Monday, July 30; Wednesday, August 1; Friday, August 3; and Saturday, August 4.

Free tickets can be printed from the Texans' official website, www.HoustonTexans.com, beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, with a limit of four per person, per practice.

Tickets for the July 30 practice will be available exclusively at Houston-area Academy Sports Outdoors locations while supplies last. Bleacher seating at each practice session is first-come, first-served.

The Texans are once again hosting a school supply drive throughout training camp and encourage their fans to bring school supplies with them to donate at practice. The school supplies will be donated to the Houston Texans YMCA for distribution to the students in its service area.

The Houston Texans Cheerleaders 2012 Swimsuit Calendar goes on sale Saturday, July 28, and all of the calendar girls will be on-hand to sign copies that morning. The Cheerleaders will also sign calendars on July 29 and Saturday, Aug. 4.

Texans Ambassadors and TORO will also be available for autographs at the practice sessions; and fans will be able to watch practice sessions as well as participate in the Fan Zone behind the bleachers, with kids having the opportunity to take part in TORO’s Kids Club presented by Kroger Kids Zone featuring various Texans interactive games.

For the second consecutive year, the Texans are creating themes for each open practice, including Battle Red Day, Liberty White Out, Youth Day, Salute to Service, Deep Steel Sunday and Fan Appreciation Day.

Free parking is available north of the Methodist Training Center off of McNee Rd. in the Purple Lot.
