Texans chairman and CEO Bob McNair, coach Gary Kubiak and president Jamey Rootes were among the participants in the tournament, along with players such as quarterback
“It’s great the way the Houston community turns out and supports what our foundation is doing,” McNair said. “Our foundation’s doing great work in the community, so it sort of brings everybody together, and I think it’s a great effort on the part of everybody.”
Each team consisted of a Texans celebrity paired with four golfers. The day included driving range practice, lunch and a game of 18 holes and concluded with a dinner reception.
“Last year our foundation was able to contribute over a million dollars to important charities right here in Houston, Rootes said. “(Golf) Score doesn’t matter today, the winner is really the community because of the good that we can do from the dollars raised here today.”
