The Texans dodged an injury bullet on Saturday with rookie tackle Brennan Williams, their third-round draft pick from North Carolina.

Williams, who will compete for the Texans' starting right tackle job this season, left the morning rookie mini-camp practice early with a knee injury. He had an MRI that revealed no major damage and will resume football activities next week.

“He got rolled up this morning in a drill that he was doing, but we think he’s going to be fine,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. “All indications are he’s fine.

“We’re going to keep him out tomorrow and then put him back to work next week, so we got lucky.”

Williams did not practice on Saturday afternoon. The Texans’ final practice of rookie mini-camp is on Sunday morning.

“I’m feeling great,” Williams said. “Somebody’s been praying for me. I’m doing alright… Just a little bit of swelling. Nothing too bad. I’ll be back pretty soon.”
