The state of the art display boards are located on both end zones and stretch 52.5 feet high by 277 feet wide, totaling 14,549 square feet of display surface. That’s six times larger than the previous screen.
Houston Texans president Jamey Rootes addressed the crowd at the grand reveal from the West Club, the impressive structures acting as a backdrop.
“It’s a really exciting day for us and most importantly for our fans, “ Rootes said. “This is going to be a great entertainment amenity for them for the future. Replays, statistics, all the things that our fans have asked us for, we’re going to be able to deliver that on an enhanced canvas.”
Manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision Systems Division, the video boards will be introduced to fans when the Texans take on the Miami Dolphins Saturday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
“The venue’s great, but it’s our fans that make the game experience. So we look forward to welcoming them Saturday night.”
