Update on Owen Daniels

Posted Nov 25, 2013

Owen Daniels is close to returning to the practice field, according to head coach Gary Kubiak.

Owen Daniels is close to returning to the practice field, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. Daniels fractured his right fibula against San Francisco. On October 9 the two-time Pro Bowler was placed on injured reserve with designation to return in six to eight weeks. Now seven weeks later, Daniels has been making progress.

“Owen, when he initially started working out, had a little soreness, but he is doing better,” Kubiak said. “He did work pretty hard today. If he can come back or actually get on the practice field, would it be this week? I’m not sure, but he’s real close. We’ll see how things work out but he has improved over the course of the last week.”

Daniels began running on the anti-gravity treadmill earlier this month. The next step would be to run on the practice field.

“I think things progress pretty fast once you get on the field from my experience with running and stuff but it’s all new for me since it’s a bone issue and never really been through that before,” Daniels said on November 13.

Through five games, Daniels caught 24 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns.
