Ticket Update for Steelers game

Posted Sep 28, 2011

The Texans are urging fans buying tickets on the secondary market to use Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange.

HOUSTON – This Sunday’s Houston Texans home game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers is already sold out, and because of the high demand for tickets, the Texans are encouraging fans still seeking tickets to utilize the NFL Ticket Exchange powered by Ticketmaster.

The NFL Ticket Exchange powered by Ticketmaster is the first and only League-approved ticket resale marketplace and has the exclusive ability to electronically validate every ticket sold.  Ticketmaster has been the official ticket sales company of the Houston Texans since the team’s inaugural season in 2002.

“Buying tickets on the street or through resellers carries inherent risks, primarily the fact that there is no failsafe way to verify that your tickets are valid,” said John Schriever, Texans Senior Vice President of Ticketing and Event Management.  “The NFL Ticket Exchange is the only outlet on the secondary market that is backed by the NFL and that has the ability to validate every ticket sold.  For fans still in the market for tickets, it is the safest way to ensure a fun and enjoyable game day experience.”

According to the NFL Ticket Exchange “Buzz Index,” the Texans-Steelers game is the most popular matchup among this week’s NFL games.  Houston’s home opener against the Indianapolis Colts on September 11 was the fifth-most popular game in the NFL that week.  The NFL Ticket Exchange “Buzz Index” utilizes a proprietary algorithm incorporating ticket demand, sales volume, and ticket revenue to calculate each game’s popularity for the week.

The NFL Ticket Exchange provides fans with a wide selection of guaranteed and authentic game day tickets from single-game and season ticketholders.  In addition, the NFL Ticket Exchange provides secure transactions and interactive seating maps, allowing fans the ability to search for tickets by location, price and number of tickets.

Most fans will also have access to Ticketmaster’s TicketFast, which provides the ability to print tickets within hours of purchase, alleviating the need for time-consuming and expensive mail delivery options.

The NFL Ticket Exchange by Ticketmaster is accessible from Ticketmaster.com and NFL.com.  Fans can reach a special dedicated customer service department for the NFL Ticket Exchange by phone at 1-888-635-5944 or by e-mail at nflticketexchange@ticketmaster.com.
