CAREER: Pound-for-pound one of the biggest hitters in the NFL…aggressive and confident corner who possesses exceptional quickness and instincts…became the first Texan in team history to be designated as the franchise player when the team used the tag on him in 2009…is the Texans' all-time interceptions leader with 13 and is two shy of the franchise record for career passes defensed with 54…ranks fourth in team history with 277 career solo tackles and fifth with 331 total tackles…had a streak of 57 consecutive starts snapped when he was placed on injured reserve (11/7/07) after suffering a major knee injury…enjoyed rookie season that saw him rack up 85 tackles, three sacks, six interceptions, 19 passes defensed and three forced fumbles…his six interceptions tied for first among NFL rookies and third overall in the league.
2008 (Houston 11/6): Came back from his 2007 season-ending injury in the Week 7 game vs. Detroit and went on to play in 11 games with six starts…recorded 35 solo tackles, three assists and tied for second on the team with two interceptions…took over first place on the franchise career interception list with his 12th career pick in Week 8 vs. Cincinnati…spent the first six weeks of the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list…made his return to the field vs. Detroit (10/19) and posted two solo tackles…became the franchise's all-time leader in interceptions with the 12th of his career vs. Cincinnati (10/26)…also finished second on the team with nine tackles against the Bengals…registered one solo tackle at Minnesota (11/2)…recorded three solo tackles and one pass defensed vs. Baltimore (11/9)…posted three solo tackles at Indianapolis (11/16)…made his first start of the season at Cleveland (11/23) and registered two solo tackles…started and made five solo tackles on Monday Night Football vs. Jacksonville (12/1)…recorded two solo tackles and intercepted his second pass of the season when he picked off Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers in the second quarter at Green Bay (12/7)…it was his franchise-leading 13th career interception…started and registered four solo tackles vs. Tennessee (12/14)…started and posted five total tackles and one pass defensed at Oakland (12/21)…started and recorded two solo tackles and one pass defensed vs. Chicago (12/28).
2007 (Houston 9/9): Started in nine games before his season ended with a devastating right knee injury that sidelined him at Oakland (11/4)…placed on injured reserve (11/7)…finished second on the team with two interceptions…made 34 tackles (29 solo) and eight passes defensed…blocked one field goal on the season…started his fourth consecutive season opener vs. Kansas City (9/9), becoming the only Texans defender to start the last four season openers…finished with two solo tackles and his first interception of the season on a tipped ball…also had two passes defensed…made four total tackles, three solo, and intercepted his second consecutive pass of the season late in the third quarter at Carolina (9/16)…started in his homecoming at Atlanta (9/30) and recorded five solo tackles…blocked his first-career field goal attempt midway through the fourth quarter, becoming the first Texan to block a field goal since Ramon Walker in 2003…made a season-high six tackles vs. Tennessee (10/21) and had two passes defensed…finished with one assist before leaving the game in the first quarter with a knee and hamstring injury at Oakland (11/4), which caused him to miss the rest of the season.
2006 (Houston 16/16): Started at cornerback in every game for third straight season…finished the season with 83 tackles, two interceptions and his first career touchdown, a nine-yard return against Buffalo (11/19)…tied a career-high with 11 tackles to lead all Texans defenders vs. Washington (9/24)…finished the game with seven solo tackles and one interception at Jacksonville (11/12)…did not register a tackle vs. Buffalo (11/19)…intercepted QB JP Losman on Buffalo's nine-yard line and returned the pick for his first career touchdown to put the Texans up by four…forced his first fumble of the season…made five total tackles, four solo and one pass defensed at Oakland (12/3)…had a busy day recording eight tackles vs. Tennessee (12/10)…finished the season on a high note with six tackles vs. Cleveland (12/31).
2005 (Houston 16/16): Started in all 16 games, either at right or left cornerback…led the team with 21 passes defensed…finished with a career-high 93 tackles, one interception and one sack…recorded six tackles, one sack, a forced fumble at Cincinnati (10/2)… recording six tackles, one pass defensed, and a diving interception against Indianapolis (10/23)…recorded seven tackles during first-career start at left cornerback against Cleveland (10/30)…registered 10 tackles at Indianapolis (11/13)…made a season-high 11 tackles and had one pass defensed against Kansas City (11/20)…started at left cornerback and posted eight tackles, a season-high five passes defensed and a forced fumble at Baltimore (12/4).
2004 (Houston 16/16): Started in all 16 games at right cornerback…led secondary with 85 tackles…also forced three fumbles and picked off six passes for 146 yards…two of his three forced fumbles were returned for scores…ranked fifth among rookies with three sacks…started at cornerback vs. Oakland (10/3), picking off first two career passes…collected nine tackles, one interception and two passes defensed in victory at Tennessee (10/17)…collected six tackles and one interception against Green Bay (11/21)… notched seven tackles and recorded fifth interception of the season at Jets (12/5)… recorded two sacks, four tackles, one forced fumble and a pass defensed against Indianapolis (12/12) collected eight tackles, one interception, one sack and one forced fumble at Chicago (12/19)…recorded five tackles and one forced fumble in shutout win at Jaguars (12/26)…forced a fumble that LB Antwan Peek returned for a 66-yard touchdown.
Originally began college career at South Carolina as a strong safety before earning the starting left cornerback slot as a junior…played in 42 career games, starting final 24 contests…recorded 114 career tackles, five interceptions for 92 return yards and 22 passes defensed…returned four punts for 44 yards…earned team Defensive Most Valuable Player honors as a senior…started all 12 games at left cornerback in 2003… majored in retail.
