Houston Community College Field of Opportunity Program

The Houston Texans and Houston Community College have partnered to create the Field of Opportunity program benefiting members of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston. Through a historic, innovative partnership, the Houston Texans and Houston Community College will not only increase the awareness of the education gap and opportunities that exist to close it, but demonstrate definitive action with the potential of giving college scholarships to qualified Boys and Girls Club members at the conclusion of every Houston Texans regular and post season game. The program, the Houston Community College Field of Opportunity, will be supplemented by educational opportunities as well as promotional messaging featuring Houston Texans Pro Bowl CB Johnathan Joseph. The Field of Opportunity program builds on HCC’s successful Opportunity 14 scholarships, and will connect performance on the field to opportunity for Greater Houston youth off the field. Here is how it works.

Every time the Texans score more than 14 points in a game, an Opportunity 14 Scholarship will be awarded and every time the Texans hold an opponent under 14 points an Opportunity 14 Scholarship will be awarded as well, meaning that every Texans regular season and post season game can result in a chance for two scholarships to be awarded to a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston.
