The NFL has designated Weeks 17 and 18 of the 2021 regular season as Inspire Change games across the league, highlighting social justice efforts in the community.

The Inspire Change Award presented by ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite partnered with the Texans to create a $400,000 grant to support social justice and racial equity efforts in Houston.

On Giving Tuesday, the Houston Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite awarded $400,000 through the Inspire Change Grant Fund to 15 local nonprofits and educational programs working to make a difference in the Houston community. The recipients were surprised at a breakfast this morning at NRG Stadium with Vice President of the Houston Texans Foundation Hannah McNair, Texans players and Texans Legends.

The Houston Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite helped celebrate the Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy Vision of Freedom Mural Experience in Freedmen's Town, featuring the reveal of an augmented reality mural and the launch of the inaugural Freedmen's Town Heritage District Tours, made possible by the Inspire Change Grant. The Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that protects and preserves the history of Freedmen's Town for the benefit of future generations. Their mission is to preserve the historic legacy of Freedmen's Town; inspiring all through education and awareness of its unique story. Freedmen's Town Conservancy was a recipient of the 2021 Inspire Change Grant, receiving $30,000, part of $400,000 in funds awarded to local nonprofits.

The Texans helped celebrate Kwanzaa with Inspire Change Grant recipient, SHAPE Community Center. SHAPE was recently the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite to support their work in the community with underserved youth. Texans Cheerleaders took part in the short presentation about Kwanzaa centered around the principal of Kujichagulia (Self-Determination) and joined kids for special activities. The Texans also provided giveaways, lunch and an ice cream truck for attendees.

Texans players and Cheerleaders helped students at DeAnda Elementary School pick six books to take home and keep free of charge thanks to Books Between Kids. Books Between Kids helps to get books in the hands of at-risk students across the city and is one of the 15 nonprofits that received funds through the $400,000 Inspire Change Grant presented by the Texans, ConocoPhillips, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Miller Lite.

Texans Legend Wade Smith, Chief of Police Troy Finner, Houston Texans Cheerleaders and TORO joined Houston Police Officers and Youth to give away 300 kits in total to youth in the community at Emancipation Park through the HPD PAL program. Kits were filled with footballs, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk and more.

The Houston Texans donated a 15-passenger van to community partner 8 Million Stories, a local nonprofit that serves at-risk youth. In addition to the van, the Texans Foundation donated school supplies, sports equipment, backpacks and new desks to help 8 Million Stories students get the year off to a great start. 8 Million Stories is a partner in the Houston Texans Inspire Change program and was also the recipient of a $25,000 grant through the Houston Texans Social Justice Fund.

The Houston Texans hosted junior football players from Thurgood Marshall High School for a Texas Southern University tour to expose high school students to historically black colleges and universities to see the available opportunities to further their education and learn more about the rich history and culture of their athletic programs with the help of Johnathan Joseph, Jester Weah and some Houston Texans Legends.
