What's in a number? HoustonTexans.com is taking a look back at the numerical roster of the franchise, and going over every number that's been worn in team history. From the memorable ones like 99, 80, and 4, to some that might not ring a bell, we've got them all covered.
Chester Pitts, 2002-2009
An original Texan, Pitts is the only player to wear the number 69 in a game for Houston. (Defensive lineman DeMario Pressley was a late-season practice squad signing in 2010.)
Pitts was drafted in the second round out of San Diego State in 2002, and went on to start at left tackle as a rookie, before eventually settling in at left guard for the remainder of his time with the team. He still holds the franchise mark for consecutive starts, with 114. Further, he started every game from the inaugural win over the Cowboys through Week 2 of 2009, when he injured his knee.
Pitts appears on the pregame and halftime shows inside NRG Stadium for home games, and is a frequent guest on Texans Extra Points.
