Gearing up for the game at LP Field

With two-and-a-half hours to kickoff, I'm all set up in the LP Field press box along with Texans TV's Drew Dougherty for the Texans' Week 2 game at Tennessee. We'll be covering the pregame, in-game and postgame goings-on for I'll be writing a running recap for the main site during the game, while Drew will be manning the blog with live updates. You can also follow the action on the official team Twitter page at

The Texans split their series with the division rival Titans last season, dropping a 31-12 decision here in Nashville in Week 3 and winning a hard-fought 13-12 game at Reliant Stadium in Week 15. Running back Steve Slaton ran for 100 yards in both games, and he will be a marked man today as the Titans try to prevent a 100-yard hat trick.

There's a 60 percent chance of rain in Nashville today, but what was a severely overcast sky above the stadium here has cleared up significantly in the last hour. There's a giant white tarp covering the field for now with players still in the locker room getting ready (it's so bright because of the reflection of the Sun that I had to put my sunglasses on in the press box... which I got a good amount of grief for from our PR staff).

I'm signing off and leaving the blogging to Drew. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the game.
