On Wednesday, the Houston Texans announced the details for the third and final preseason game.
The Texans will face off against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Saturday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m.
This is 12th preseason contest between the two franchises, and the Texans are 6-5 through the first 11 games. During the regular season, the Cowboys and Texans have met five times. Houston won the last meeting, 19-16, in a Week 5 overtime thriller during the 2018 season. The Texans also won the first meeting in 2002, 19-10, in the franchise's inaugural game.
The Cowboys went 6-10 last year during the regular season and finished third in the NFC East.
It's the second year for head coach Mike McCarthy, who came to Dallas after going 125-77-2 in 13 seasons with Green Bay. He was the head coach when the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010. His Green Bay squads won 10 games or more in a season eight times.

Former Texans punter Bryan Anger signed with the Cowboys this offseason after spending 2019 and 2020 in Houston. Defensive lineman Carlos Watkins spent the first four years of his career with the Texans, and signed with Dallas this offseason. Texans receiver Randall Cobb played for the Cowboys in 2019, while Texans defensive lineman Maliek Collins started 55 games from 2016-2019 in Dallas. Linebacker Joe Thomas comes to the Texans after spending the previous three with the Cowboys.
