Watson, Tunsil among Pro Bowlers in virtual Madden NFL 21 Pro Bowl

Deshaun Watson and Laremy Tunsil have been named to the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl, the league announced Monday. This marks the second consecutive year for the Houston Texans to earn Pro Bowl honor at starting left tackle and third consecutive year at quarterback, although this year's game will be a brand-new experience.

With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl will not take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as originally planned. Instead, the annual game will be transformed into a virtual competition in Madden NFL 21.

"We are transforming the Pro Bowl for fans everywhere and bringing another amazing NFL experience to life in the way only Madden NFL can," said Chris Bruzzo, Electronic Arts EVP of Marketing, Commercial & Positive Play. "We're excited to work closely with the NFL, our long-time partner, to move the Pro Bowl to the virtual fields of Madden NFL and be part of the first high-profile sporting event to go virtual. Our community is hungry for more interactive experiences, so we are always working to create more opportunities to bring them closer to the sports they love."

EA Sports and the NFL partnered together to create a week-long series of matchups featuring celebrities, NFL Legends, current players, and streamers playing as the official Pro Bowl rosters in Madden NFL 21. These matchups will culminate in an action-packed virtual Pro Bowl game played with 2021 Pro Bowl players facing off within Madden NFL 21.

Pro Bowl fan voting ended on December 17. Roster selections were determined by a consensus of fans, players and coaches.

Houston Texans T Laremy Tunsil and QB Deshaun Watson were named to the 2021 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced today. This marks the 17th-consecutive season (2004-20) that the Texans have had at least one player selected to the Pro Bowl.
