Biography
Jack Easterby is the executive vice president of football operations for the Houston Texans. Easterby is responsible for the vision and oversight of the organization's football operations, which includes athlete performance, Texans football facilities, team development, sports medicine as well as football technology and decision sciences. His role also includes the oversight of the football operations budget and the development of all football operations system curriculum.

His role also includes the oversight of the football operations budget and the development of all football operations system curriculum.
Easterby joined the Texans in April 2019 as executive vice president of team development and was promoted to his current role in January 2020. During his time with the Texans, he has also served on multiple strategic performance groups within Leaders in Sport and has served as an advisor to several NFL programs within their committees. In particular, Easterby was selected by the NFL to serve on the leadership council for the league's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship Program. Throughout his career, Easterby has been an outspoken advocate for equal opportunities for all people, including being recognized by the Boston Business Journal's Leaders in Diversity for his commitment to instilling diversity and inclusion in leadership during his time with the New England Patriots.
Prior to becoming a Houston Texan, Easterby worked for the New England Patriots for six historic seasons. These seasons included four Super Bowl appearances resulting in three world championships. He served in a variety of leadership capacities with the Patriots expanding to his position as team development director and managed several programs within the organization. He began his tenure as the team's character coach in 2013. Prior to joining the Patriots, Easterby served in the Kansas City Chiefs organization for the 2011 and 2012 seasons, focusing on player development in a character development role championed by former Kansas City General Manager, Scott Pioli.
Over his career, Easterby has served as a team and athlete development consultant for multiple professional teams, including mentoring coaches, players and administrators from the PGA Tour, MLB, NBA and United States National Teams. Easterby's first NFL experience was with the Jacksonville Jaguars' football operations and public relations departments in 2004. He went on to become the character coach for the University of South Carolina Athletics Department from 2005-10, where he implemented team-building programs for several Olympic sports including the 2010 NCAA baseball national champions and the eventual women's basketball national champions. Easterby also played an important role on campus, assisting the university with developing team building and athlete life skill initiatives.
Easterby and his family are founders of The Greatest Champion Foundation, an educational nonprofit foundation. The foundation partners with leaders in high schools, universities, and professional athletics to prepare and empower them to address the challenges impacting their roles and institutions. As a result of its efforts, the foundation has successfully trained and placed character coaches in athletic departments and professional organizations across the country. Easterby currently serves as Chairman of the Board for the foundation.
The Columbia, S.C. native graduated from Newberry College, where he captained the basketball and golf teams to historic seasons at the time, setting records in men's golf for lowest nine-hole score and tying for the lowest 18-hole score. As a senior, Easterby was named Scholar Athlete of the Year by both Newberry College and the South Atlantic Conference, as well as receiving the SAC Male Athlete Character Award and the American Legion Athlete of the Year Award.
Easterby and his wife, Holly, have two daughters, Houston and Harriet.
